Lauren shares a video series of communicating on the beach. This series provides examples of knowing what and when to say something on offense, defense and transition.
1. Before each match and every before each play have a system in place to defend the opponents tendencies.
2. During the play use all four eyes on the team to help in what should be said such as “nobody” and what should not be said such as “tight set”.
3. Think of each play as an equilateral triangle no matter where the ball is with the tip of each point being the pass.
4. Help when your partner is struggling with good early calls, switching sides and other methods. Most of all always be a cheerleader.
5. Stay balanced in calling out how to defend and fill the court, particularly when the wind is at your back.
6. In transition a player can gain more time with a higher set and a good call to where the open court is.
