Why Most High School Varsity Coaches Don’t Repeat Greatness?
Most of us can identify the traits of a good player, a good team, and / or a good coach. But doing it ourselves, or understanding why it happens is far more difficult. At Volleyball1on1 we realized that “greatness” and “what great looks like” ® creates a repeatable system that others (often with less talent and less resources) can use to have greatness themselves in playing and coaching volleyball.
Achieving greatness in our opinion is repeatable. Meaning, as a coach or a player you understand at a deep level why you were successful and know how to repeat it. This understanding of greatness is something many coaches and players miss. Why?
Coaches and players are not witness to the process or full journey. Rather, they only see the result. They do not witness each step, each push, and each learning opportunity. They are only witnessing a part or the final result. They attribute success as a one-off uncontrollable outlier. Success and greatness in their minds are the result of talent, timing, and / or luck. Greatness is not seen as repeatable, controllable, and something you can put into a system.
As a coach if you do not understand why and how you were able to achieve greatness then how can you repeat it? Most High School Varsity Head Coaches do not have a repeatable system for greatness as a coach or in their program.
Did You Know Greatness For Your Volleyball Program Is Repeatable Every Year?
At Volleyball1on1 we define success when playing and coaching volleyball repeatable and controllable with the following:
“What Great Looks Like!” ® – The Volleyball1on1 Playing Standard,
“What Great Looks Like!” ® – “Winning Team Culture”, and
“What Great Looks Like!” ® – Coaching Standard
At Volleyball1on1 we understand the steps it takes to move your high school varsity program from good to great, and “What Great Looks Like! ®”. We help you develop greatness as a cumulative process, which step by step, action by action, decision by decision, drive the momentum that adds up to sustained and spectacular results for you as a coach and your program.
