One of the major differences in how to transition to beach volleyball from indoor is playing 2 on 2 verses 6 on 6. Over at the beach you have to have the mentality to get every ball or every other ball, so be ready!
Hi, my name is Priscilla Lima. I’ve been playing volleyball since I was 15 years old. For the last 5 years I’ve been playing on the professional volleyball tour, in AVP and the Brazilian Tour. I’ve also been coaching volleyball for 11 years.
In 2004 I missed qualifing for my first AVP tournament. Since then I’ve qualified for every tournament and finished 2009 with the AVP Most Improved Player award and third in the nation.
In this video, the first of 6, I describe how to transition to beach volleyball. One way to make the transition easier from indoor is to draw an imaginary line splitting the court. You have to trust your partner, and be ready for every ball. Together with my 4 year beach beach partner Angela Louis I demonstrate this and many more techniques to make the transition a lot of fun!
