Core training and exercise is critical for optimal performance and health. A good core workout improves spiking and passing to defense and blocking. Marcin walks through a series of videos to strengthen the core.
1. Front plank is essential for core strength. Keep it simple with elbows beneath the chest and hold that position.
2. Side plank strengthens the obliques for twisting and turning that occurs on the court.
3. Reverse crunch with a stability ball and an even spine is best for this exercise.
4. Abdominal twist and a light dumbbell strengthens the core while twisting from side to side.
5. Jay hawk starts lying on your back with a weight above your head. Then do a sit-up moving the weight remaining above your head.
6. Opposite arm opposite leg requires no weights and focuses on your abs and butt.
