The back one attack has one difference from its cousin the middle one. The set is behind the setter. For this adjustment Jeff presents this instructional video series to help middle blockers spike better.
1. No matter where the starting position is always work to the middle of the court to prepare for the approach.
2. The approach and arm swing require the lead arm to be even higher so the momentum is carried toward the center of the court.
3. Footwork is very intricate and complex due to where the pass is and the starting location of the hitter.
4. The arm swing has to be very quick, short and compact to beat the block.
5. On a perfect pass use the field of vision to find the open part of the court depending on the blockers tendencies.
6. Use a full selection of shots including the best shot in volleyball.
