This series of videos contain one of Dan Fishers favorite volleyball warm up drills the Dig Set Volleyball Drill.
This drill is utilized early in practice to help the team warmup as well as work on over the net ball control and reading the hitters shoulder on defesne. One thing Dan stresses is warming up in non traditional ways. Rather than throwing the ball back and fourth or peppering Dan wants the players to be working on volleyball skills preferably in a game like situation while warming up. This way the players get the maximum amount of time working on skills with limited time in the gym.
This drill works on passing and setting for all the players on the court. Dan wants all his players to dig and play defense well, as well as all be able to set. This keeps the players moving and warms them up while working on two very important skills, defense and transition setting.
