This is a intro video for some new content with instructor is Chris Austin, UCI starting volleyball setter who won 2 NCAA Championships at University of Irvine under NCAA Coaches of the Years; John Speraw and David Kniffin. Two of the best coaches currently in men’s volleyball.
Chris offers unique insights in his series of videos as he is one of the few top college players who coached club while playing college at the highest level and this gives him a unique perspective on what works and what does not! This video series addresses one of the biggest mistakes we see in junior high school and club coaching. The lack of individual focus, attention, skill building and drills for the most important player on the court, the setter. The setter touches more balls than any player and is responsible for fixing errors off passing, to win at the higher levels a good setter is a must.
Yet few coaches know how or what drills to run in order to develop their setters. This series of videos features drills coaches can use before practice or during warmups to develop individual setting skills and help improve their setters decision making.
Beyond this series of videos we also film a full practice with Chris Austin at volleyball1on1.com. His undersize team is rank in top 4 team in Southern California and this is a true testament to his incredible coaching skills.
